My story
Hi, I’m David, a visual designer living in Marina del Rey, CA. I have been designing point-of-purchase displays for the entertainment and consumer products industries for more than two decades. (You can see that work here.) During that time, I’ve had the opportunity to create work in a number of different genres, and It’s given me the ability to adapt stylistically to the aesthetic needs of my clients. The one thing that always remains constant however, is the need for messaging to be clearly conveyed in as straightforward a way as possible. That view leads my approach to design and is one of the things I find compelling with UX/UI design.
I have been wanting to explore UX/UI for quite a while now, and figured my background was very well suited towards making the transition. I decided to enroll in courses with DesignLab and CareerFoundry and have since gained the tools necessary to embark on a new journey in design.
My background as a senior designer and art director has given me the tools to work well creatively and interpersonally with different departments, as well as understanding and managing logistical aspects of project delivery. My previous experience also allows me to bring a host of print production knowledge to a team so I can help bridge any gaps  between digital and printed material.
In my free time, you can find me riding my bike along the beach or hiking trails here in southern California while listening to any number of playlists I’ve strung together on Spotify.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or just to say hi.
